Our Impact Approach

YouThryve Development’s approach is built on connection, empowerment, and long-term transformation.

📍

Reach

We actively identify and engage youth in underserved communities through door-to-door outreach, schools, social media, and trusted local networks.

🧰

Prepare

We equip young people with essential tools such as professional CVs, interview readiness, digital skills, and strong business foundations.

🚀

Empower

We support youth to access learnerships, internships, employment opportunities, or to start small income-generating initiatives.

🤝

Sustain

We provide mentorship, track progress, and build partnerships that support long-term growth, employment, and self-reliance.

Our goal is not only to reduce unemployment numbers, but to transform dependency into capability. Empowering young people to become job creators and active contributors to their communities.

My 2cent perspective

South Africa’s youth unemployment rate remains high, not only because opportunities do not exist, but because many young people lack the skills required to access them. Too many youth believe that their educational background alone makes them employable, yet employers increasingly seek practical abilities, work readiness, and technical skills alongside qualifications. This gap between education and employability leaves countless young people unprepared for the demands of the workplace.

While existing initiatives have supported millions, many more remain unreached: the not shortlisted, the rejected, the underqualified, the unaware, the late applicants, and those who slip through the cracks. If we want to truly reduce youth unemployment, we must solve it as a whole, not in pieces but by reaching every young person, not just the selected few.

We strongly believe that every young person deserves more than a single chance. Regardless of background, appearance, or accent, no one’s future should be defined by rejection or missed opportunity. True empowerment begins with access to information, practical training, and continued support, ensuring that every young person has alternative pathways to build real, market-ready skills and a meaningful future.
